Gumball 3000 rally final destination: Miami

The Gumball 3000 rally 2022 will end up in Miami

Gumball 3000 reaches its last destination: Miami. As Gumball 3000 blitzes down the interstate between May 27 and June 3 this year, we’ll be setting up unforgettable events along the way. Our partnership with this annual celebrity-driven car rally means you get more than just the online experience of Ignition Casino. We’ll be there in person for every pit stop from Toronto to Miami, tailoring the Gumball Ignition Casino experience. We’re stoked about all of the cities on this year’s itinerary, especially Miami.

This will be the fourth time that Gumball 3000 graces the streets of Miami, and it’s always a blast. The supercars roll into Magic City on June 1, so mark your calendar and start planning your Gumball 3000 Miami trip. For those who can’t make it in person, you can watch Gumball 3000 at Ignition online.

About Miami

What could we possibly say about Miami that hasn’t been said in party tracks, TV shows, and bachelor parties? It’s fun, it’s hot, and once the nightlights hit Ocean Drive, it’s magic. Hence the nickname “Magic City.” Actually, when you do some fact-checking the nickname actually exists because the city appeared like a mirage over night. A wealthy widow named Julia Tuttle and her equally wealthy friend Henry Flagler extended a railroad to South Florida and created one of the fastest-growing cities by 1896.

As the city grew so did news of its climate, beaches, and its Latin-American culture. Today, it’s a city of bright colors, beautiful art, and houses a lot of artists (Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Flo Rida, DJ Khaled, Enrique Iglesias and Rick Ross) that match the city’s vibe.

All this and we haven’t even touched on clichés like ‘Scarface’ or Miami Beach. Bottom line, the Miami and Gumball 3000 is the best South Beach combo since LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. It’s the perfect “resting” place for the 2022 Gumball 3000.

Top Restaurants

Famous hotel Fontainebleau Miami Beach

The culinary scene in Miami is on another level. In 2021, it was announced that Miami would be added to the Michelin Food Guides—the food in this city is that good. It’s the perfect time to get out there and enjoy the eclectic and varied gastronomy that’s unique to Miami. You’ll have plenty of options come June 1, so come hungry.

Despite the wide array of eating options, you can’t go wrong with the hotel restaurants at Fontainebleau Miami Beach – one of the most popular hotels for Gumballers in Miami. Located on Millionaire’s Row, this luxury hotel has six dining options that include an award-winning Cantonese restaurant (Hakkasan) run by Chef Loo. For those who want to stretch their legs, Matador Room is a staple in South Beach, offering 1950s glamour and Spanish, Caribbean, South American and Latin-inspired dishes created by world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. In the basement is a night club, bowling alley and ice-skating rink, so you don’t need to go far for more entertainment.

La Mar over on Brickell Key is where you’ll find celebrity chef Gaston Acurio whipping out Peruvian dishes, including ceviche—a staple in Miami. If the weather accommodates, the view on the terrace of the bay and the Miami skyline can’t be beat.

Best Fashion & Shopping

High-end shopping is everywhere in Miami. To get some new threads, head to the Bal Harbour Shops in the beach village of Bal Harbour. This Miami staple has been around since 1965 when it was a single-level fashion center, but it’s undergone several renovations since. With another massive expansion scheduled, the current retail space will be doubled to accommodate even more luxury brands. As you wander through the manicured breezeways, passing koi-filled ponds and lush tropical plants, you’ll pass by shops like Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Rolex and Versace, among others. Keep an eye out for celebrity encounters—this is where Miami’s elite build their wardrobes.

Top Nightclubs

The Gumballers will be able to visit the famous Miami Strip

When people think Miami, they think nightlife. Everything from rooftop bars, to nightclubs, to pool parties and live music can be found in Magic City, and the options are endless. Simply hitting up Freehold in Wynwood gives you access to three different bars, a sprawling courtyard, a pizzeria and a stage for events. It has the look and feel of a hotel without any actual lodging. If you’re looking for something more exclusive, high rollers can head over to the Champagne Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club. Luminaries and celebs congregated here to sample the biggest selection of bubbly in Miami back in its early days. Order up Dom Perignon by the glass or bottle.

There’s no need to venture out from Fontainbleau to let loose. The best nightclub in Miami can be found on the property: LIV Miami. A-list celebrities frequent this 18,000-square foot venue that’s bumping from Thursday to Sunday every week, with DJs cranking out tunes and mixologists servicing the four bars. Tiesto and Cedric Gervais regularly perform here, so keep an eye on the events calendar.

Best Miami Music

Major acts regularly stop in Miami for their tours, so it’s easy to find a show happening any day of the week in this city. On June 2, the day after Gumball 3000, The Doobie Brothers are performing along with Michael McDonald and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach—perfect for those craving some classic rock once the cars take off the following day.

Top Tourists Attractions

One of main highlights of Miami is the beach

Gumball 3000 is going to roll into Miami on June 1, when the sun is sizzling. You can be sure people will be cooling off at the beach and in air-conditioned venues during peak heat. The vast coastlines here have always been the star attraction, and you’ll see why when you pull up to South Beach (SoBe). The white sand and turquoise water make this place feel like paradise, and just above the beach, you’ll find high-end boutiques and elegant art deco architecture.

When you’re done with the beach scene, head to Coconut Grove to see Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Built between 1914 and 1922, this extravagant estate is on 10 acres of manicured gardens and showcases Mediterranean style architecture at its finest. Through a guided tour, you can get an idea of what living in Miami in the 1920s was like for James Deering—the millionaire bachelor owner of the estate.

Other Live Events Miami Events

Casinos and poker rooms are big here year-round and the most recognizable one is Magic City Casino, which has Vegas-style casino games, poker rooms, and live events at their outdoor concert venue. That said, if you’d rather enjoy the summer heat we suggest staying outside and competing in the Gumball 3000 x Ignition Casino poker tournament.

Once the heat of the day dies down, summer nights begin. Head to the Bay Inn and Marina for Rock the Dock, which offers live music between 6 and 9 PM from May 31 to June 2 at Shuckers. It’s a good place to catch Miami’s epic sunsets after a long day of touring the city.
